The Conference was held in the museum of “Museum Art House of Sevdah”. The Conference was held after significant achievements of the Academy’s alumni since their completion of inaugural Academy project in 2016 that was supported by International Olympic Committee (IOC) through the Young Ambassador (YA) projects related to Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
“The Conference was organized by Excellence Academy, that was supported by IOC, NOC and Skating NF in 2016. We followed achievements of our alumni and other young Bosnians. They have not only got jobs after they completed university studies, they have begun to become role models in their communities and cities from which they come from. We invited them today to share their success and values of Bosnian society.”, said Edin Branković, M.Sc., founder of the Academy and Young Ambassador of IOC.
“Art house of Sevdah” (Bosnian traditional song) was chosen because of the symbolic reason because sevdalinka (Bosnian traditional song) is in the process for UNESCO nomination for non material heritage.
“Therefore, we sincerely hope that examples of these seventeen young people will be inspiration to all of us study deeper values that are present in Bosnian society and that are recognized in whole world.”, added Brankovic while reflecting on the purpose of the Conference.
Youth from various educational, sport and cultural studies backgrounds took part on the Conference together with mentors from public and private sector who offered advices for their future steps. Also, the Conference emphasized that personal achievements and awareness of values and diversities are meaningful characteristics of multicultural and plural societies .
