The Challenges of Bosnian Plurality – International Conference and Summer School “Youth and Heritage”
From 27th to 31st July Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city Stolac hosts International Summer School “Youth and Heritage” that attract more and more youth from the region and from all over the world each year. The reason is a live knowledge that students gain experiencing Bosnian tradition and history that has been known as religiously plural through its existence.
The second day of the School students attended the International conference held in Mostar – “Unity and Plurality in Europe” – organized by International forum Bosna. Students attended the session “The Challenges of Bosnian Plurality in the Unity and Plurality of Europe”. The panelists were Paul Ballanfant (Istanbul), Sonja Biserko (Belgrade), Garet Jones (Hong Kong), Mile Babić, Senadin Lavić and Rusmir Mahmutćehajić (Sarajevo).
The main answers which were pursued on the conference were the questions related to Bosnian pluralism that has been put many times through out the history in forms of taboo, used in a different forms of nationalisms, fundamentalisms and other ideologies. Therefore, answering and understanding the idea of Bosnian plurality is inseparable from understanding the ideas of freedom and dignity.
